Shifa Ali

I joined Mindset because I’m drawn to policy work that looks beyond institutions and considers the people, priorities, and outcomes behind each decision.

Shifa is a Policy Analyst with legislative and strategic communications experience, specializing in insurance and public health policy issues.

Prior to joining Mindset, Shifa completed internships with the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate. In these roles, she supported legislative research across a range of policy issues gaining firsthand exposure to congressional processes and the role of constituents in shaping policy conversations. Shifa also gained experience in political communications and digital strategy through an internship with Van Ness Creative Strategies, where she helped develop advertising and digital content for candidate and ballot campaigns nationwide.

Shifa’s hidden talent: Shifa loves photography, video editing, and Photoshop. She can often be found holding one of her cameras or working on a new creative project.
