Washington, D.C. — Mindset, a bipartisan public policy consulting firm based in Washington, D.C., announced today that Chantel Sheaks has joined the team as Principal. Sheaks brings decades of experience advising organizations on retirement, labor, healthcare, financial wellness, and Social Security, along with a deep understanding of the legislative and regulatory landscape. Her addition strengthens Mindset’s retirement and healthcare portfolios, expanding the firm’s ability to navigate complex policy challenges, engage key stakeholders, and advance client strategic priorities.

Prior to joining Mindset, Sheaks served as Vice President of Retirement Policy at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, where she led the organization’s retirement and pension policy agenda. In this role, she worked closely with members of Congress, administration officials, and regulatory agencies to advance policy priorities and represented the Chamber in several national coalitions focused on retirement security.
Earlier in her career, Sheaks held leadership positions at a major international law firm, a global benefits consulting firm, and a national multiemployer health fund, advising on workforce-related issues like health and welfare, retirement programs, fiduciary responsibilities, regulatory reporting and disclosure requirements. Throughout, Sheaks became well-known for her ability to translate complex policy and regulatory developments into practical strategies and for building coalitions that advance meaningful policy outcomes.
Chantel holds a Juris Doctor from Northeastern University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Russian Studies from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College.
