A policy strategist with expertise in financial services, regulatory oversight, and congressional investigations, Charlie helps clients navigate a variety of government relations matters.

Charlie’s outstanding work on the Financial Services Committee is well known on Capitol Hill and throughout the industry. As a policy and oversight advisor, Charlie helps clients develop comprehensive agendas as they navigate complex issues. Strengthened by his deep relationships in the House Committee on Financial Services, Charlie plays a leading role counseling on a variety of issue areas, including banking, capital markets, fintech, and ESG. Charlie also has extensive experience conducting congressional investigations and regulatory oversight, allowing him to provide unique insight to clients seeking advice in those areas.

Charlie’s tenure on Capitol Hill combined with his knowledge of the oversight process and credentials as a licensed attorney account for his success in cultivating key contacts and spearheading efforts to reform and legislate. Prior to joining Mindset, Charlie served as Senior Counsel of the House Committee on Financial Services under Ranking Member Patrick McHenry (NC-10), and previously worked under Chairman Jeb Hensarling (TX-05), splitting his time between investigations and policy work.

Before joining the Financial Services Committee, Charlie served under then-Chairman Rob Portman on the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations. He was integral to a wide variety of investigations for the Subcommittee, including inquiries dealing with money laundering, healthcare, and education. A Cincinnati native, Charlie began his career in the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office in Ohio after graduating from Miami University and the University of Cincinnati College of Law.

Charlie’s hidden talent: He was a voice minor in college and is frequently seen with a mic in his hand.
