Zach leads Mindset’s technology and competition practices—providing key insights in legislative, regulatory, and legal risks and opportunities for investor due diligence, as well as government relations strategies. He also leads our corporate strategy work for clients seeking advice on starting or expanding government relations and political giving activity. Noted for his strong and insightful analyses, Zach is often sought by clients for his ability to home in on key policymaker proclivities and place issues into the broader short- and long-term contexts—helping them develop sustainable investment or engagement strategies and ensuring predictable results.
Prior to joining Mindset, Zach served as Legislative Director for Congresswoman Robin L. Kelly (D-IL), a senior member of the House Committee on Energy & Commerce.
Zach is a magna cum laude graduate of The George Washington University, a cum laude graduate of The University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law with a certificate in Business Law and holds an MBA from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business with a certificate in Nonmarket Strategy. His legal writings have been published by the Journal of Business & Technology Law and the Harvard Journal on Legislation.
Zach lives in Bethesda, MD, with his wife and two daughters.
Zach’s hidden talent: He’s a prodigious early bird and avid golfer; often in the summer months, he’ll finish a round (walking the course) before the rest of his family wakes up.
