Lauri has a deep understanding of the policy process and how to make an impact on Capitol Hill, through her experience with Congressional committees, leading members of Congress, and advocacy efforts for non-profit organizations.
Ng most recently served as Senior Counsel for the House Committee on Financial Services, where she was instrumental in drafting and managing all legislation for the Subcommittee on Diversity and Inclusion in the 116th Congress. She also helped oversee the subcommittee’s congressional hearings and diversity and inclusion initiatives, including a review of inclusion policies for large financial institutions and recommendations on best practices.
Prior to joining the Financial Services Committee, Ng served as a Senior Policy Advisor for the National Coalition for Asian Pacific American Community Development (CAPACD), where she helped manage advocacy with Members of Congress and federal agencies. She also handled financial services, trade, tax, energy, and environment issues as a Legislative Assistant to House Appropriator Congresswoman Grace Meng (D-NY).
Ng received her law degree from American University, Washington College of Law, and worked as a legal intern for both the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and the New York State Office of the Attorney General, Investor Protection Bureau.
