Having advised senior leaders in the legislative and executive branches for over a decade, Scott understands how government officials think.
Scott is known for crafting bipartisan compromises in the House Financial Services Committee. He brings the understanding of how to turn competing priorities into complementary policy options to advising clients on issues before Congress and the Administration. Leveraging relationships throughout government and across public policy organizations, Scott pulls together a wide array of perspectives to drive toward consensus outcomes that further clients’ abilities to serve their customers and deploy their capital.
Immediately before joining Mindset, Scott served as Vice President of Policy at the Economic Innovation Group, a leading public policy organization focused on creating a more dynamic American economy. Prior to that, Scott was Chief of Staff and Legislative Director to Congressman Bill Foster (D-IL), serving as the Congressman’s top political and policy advisor, including managing a very active portfolio on the House Financial Services Committee.
Scott began his career as a Presidential Management Fellow at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. He was also a Housing Fellow in the office of then-Congressman Gary C. Peters (D-MI) in the years after the financial crisis.
Scott holds a BA from Albion College, JD from Michigan State University College of Law, and LLM in Securities and Financial Regulation from Georgetown University Law Center.
