Former Senate Chief of Staff, Dana Gresham, Joins Mindset

Washington, D.C. – February 24, 2021 – Mindset, a Washington, DC-based bipartisan strategic advisory and advocacy firm, today announced that Dana Gresham will join the firm as a Principal. Gresham most recently served as Chief of Staff to Senator Doug Jones (D-AL) and during the Obama administration he was confirmed by the Senate to serve as Assistant Secretary of Governmental Affairs at the U.S. Department of Transportation. Gresham will play an especially important leadership role in growing the firm’s transportation, infrastructure, and energy transition work.

As the Chief of Staff to Senator Doug Jones (D-AL), Gresham stood up the Senate Office and recruited, hired, developed, and managed a staff of over forty professionals. He was a key policy and political advisor to the Senator and helped develop and push through a comprehensive legislative agenda impacting historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs), financial institutions, transit authorities, healthcare workers, and military service members and their families. During his 8 years at the Department of Transportation, Gresham served as the top liaison for the department to Congress, coordinated the department’s legislative agenda with the administration, and served as senior advisor to two Secretaries of Transportation.

Gresham began his career in Washington working in the U.S. House of Representatives where he worked for three Members of Congress, including Members of the Congressional Black Caucus, the New Democrat Coalition and the Blue Dog Coalition. For six years, he served as Chief of Staff to his hometown Congressman, Representative Artur Davis of Alabama. He also served as Legislative Director for Representative Bud Cramer. Gresham is originally from Birmingham, Alabama and is a graduate of Georgetown University.
